Compliance for Small & Medium Businesses
Get (and stay) provably compliant with the HIPAA Security Rule, FTC Safeguards Rule, or PCI-DSS with an IT provider that truly understands them.
Did You Know:
The average fine for HIPAA noncompliance is nearly $900k?
Audits, cyber insurance applications, and security questionnaires are asking for things you don't have documented.
You're quietly worried you're one incident away from a problem you can't undo — and unsure whether your current IT setup would even hold up under scrutiny.
Technology Compliance just
shouldn't be this hard.
That's why we work to make it easier.

About the HIPAA Security Rule
HIPAA sets the federal standard for protecting patient health information, and it applies to far more than hospitals — medical and dental practices, chiropractors, billing companies, and even the IT vendors that support them can all be subject to HIPAA.
Compliance isn't a one-time certification; it's an ongoing program of documented safeguards, training, and accountability. The rule assumes a level of in-house security expertise that most small practices simply don't have on staff, which is exactly why a named, accountable point person is non-negotiable. A practice that hasn't reviewed its HIPAA posture recently is often carrying more exposure than it realizes.
A single missing element (such as an SRA or training program) could lead to multiple violations. With an average fine of nearly $900k, noncompliance is a risk too large for any small or mid-size practice to take.

About the FTC Safeguards Rule
The FTC Safeguards Rule implements the security provisions of the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act for "financial institutions" — a category far broader than banks, covering auto dealers, mortgage brokers, tax preparers, accountants, and other SMBs that extend credit or handle customer financial data.
Since its 2023 update, the rule is prescriptive rather than vague: it names specific controls (a Qualified Individual, encryption, multi-factor authentication) rather than leaving compliance to interpretation.
There's no small-business exemption from the core program, even though some administrative provisions relax for firms holding data on fewer than 5,000 consumers.
Many SMB owners in these categories don't realize they're covered until an audit, an insurance renewal, or a lender relationship forces the question.
FTC civil penalty authority currently runs to roughly $50,000 per violation per day it continues — and because violations can be counted per system, per day, an unresolved control gap compounds fast, on top of the risk of a consent order that can shadow a business for years.

Retail & Others

Secure Network & Firewall Configuration
Encryption of Cardholder Data
Encrypted transmission of cardholder data across networks

About PCI-DSS
Any SMB that accepts, stores, or transmits credit card data is on the hook, regardless of size, which is why even a small retail shop or service business can find itself facing non-compliance fees.
Unlike HIPAA or the Safeguards Rule, PCI-DSS non-compliance often shows up quietly first — as a monthly fee added by your processor — before escalating sharply if a breach occurs. Version 4.0.1 is now the operative standard, and businesses still working against the older 3.2.1 requirements are already out of date.
Non-compliance fees from processors and acquiring banks typically run $5,000–$100,000 per month depending on severity, and if a breach occurs while non-compliant, the business — not the card brand — is typically liable for card reissuance, fraud losses, and forensic investigation costs on top of the fines.
The true worst-case scenario is being banned from accepting cards altogether until the noncompliance is resolved.
